Sorbie Deep Conditioning Treatment

I was running a little low on my Sorbie Deep Conditioning Treatment.  You know low.  Like when you actually cut open a container and scrape out the contents with a Q-tip.  Wow.  I better not get that low again on my Sorbie.  My hair just doesn't work without it.

For straight hair:  I just use a almond size amount and rub it through my wet hair before styling.  I then use a flat iron with a heat protectant spray and finish with a smoothing serum.

For curly hair: Rub a larger amount in hair, add a handful of mousse, blow-dry hair while scrunching with fingers, and curl ringlets where hair is messy.

May I add that I am a little curious to try the new Full Thickening Cream by Living Proof.  I am wondering if this product will produce similar results on my hair.

They have a smaller bottle for $14.00 (1.8oz)  Have you tried it?

Salicylic Wash from Skin Actives

Salicylic Wash from Skin Actives Review:

Since we are discussing facial washes this week, I thought I would let you in on my newest favorite!  I purchased the Salicylic Wash from Skin Actives and just love it.  I am still trying to figure out if they make a product that I don't like!

Okay, let me break down the experience for you.  I came home from a long shift at work.  My makeup was caked on, my mascara was smeared, and I looked like heck.  I was actually excited about washing my face so I could test out my new product.  I don't know about you, but I hate washing my face.

The Salicylic Wash name sounds so serious.  The name sounds harsh and painful (the salicylic acid) part.  Trust me, there is nothing painful about this wash.  First off, it is white and has a creamy texture.  It doesn't smell (yay!) and it doesn't burn or sting.  Actually, it just feels smooth.  I recognized that feeling too - a little similar to the Sea Kelp Bioferment and after looking at the label; yes, indeed, it does contain SKB!

Here are the ingredients:
Distilled Water, Sea Kelp Bioferment, PEG-10 Sunflower, PEG-16 Macadamia, Salicylic Acid, Zinc PCA, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben (and) Propylparaben.

After washing my face, I was quick to notice that my eye makeup was removed.  I quickly applied my moisturizer and was happy and clean again.

I do have a new name for the Skin Actives Salicylic Wash though; how about Soothing Sea Wash.  This stuff really is too good.  Try it today here for only $12.50 for 4 fl oz.  Quite a deal in my book!  http://www.skinactives.com/product/detail.aspx?prodID=90

Since they charge $6.00 for shipping you may want to add some Mitochondrial Booster Cream to go with your purchase.  You won't be sorry!

Purpose Cleanser Review

This cleanser promises to be gentle, soap-free, and to not sting your eyes.  It promises to not make you break out. This is all true.

Yet, it promises to remove eye make-up and be non-drying.  Not true.  I left the shower with my skin begging for my ELS Serum from Skin Actives

So, if you are looking for a pretty simple, pretty inexpensive cleanser, this one will do.  But, you will have to use a second product to remove eye makeup and be sure to keep your skin cream in close range.  Because there is nothing like that itchy, cracking feeling on your face after a shower.

On a scale from 1 to 10, I give it a 6.  It's nice, simple, and pretty non-controversial.  What do you use to wash your face???

Lips need Love too

Valentine's Day is Sunday!
With Valentine's Day around the corner, it is time to take care of your lips!  When it is time to pucker up to your sweetie, you want to have smooth, soft, and healthy lips.

There are two new products out by Neosporin that will help you accomplish that goal.

The #1 doctor recommended brand of topical antibiotic treatment, NEOSPORIN®, now introduces Neosporin Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy.

This lip treatment is clinically shown to restore visibly healthier lips in 3 days and lock‐in moisture.  I tried this treatment and love it!  Plus, it has SPF20 which isn't found in so many lip products today.

With wearing lipstick so often, sometimes your lips just need a break and need to be restored.  This lip treatment will do that while still providing shine.

Don't forget to cover your lips at night too.

NEOSPORIN® is also introducing a new product for nightly use - Neosporin Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy.

I have been using this overnight cream on my lips for a few weeks now and I am addicted to it.  I like the fact that it is not minty flavored.  The last thing I want on my lips before bed is something minty to sting my lips.  This lip therapy was just about perfect and soothing.  After drinking water throughout the evening, this product was still there in the morning!  It is definately a product that men or women can use too.

It hydrates your lips but also helps penetrates deep within the skin’s surface to work during the body’s natural recovery process while you sleep, resulting in softer, smoother lips every day.

Try these today!  They are located at your local drugstore or grocery store.

Skin Actives Review

I have found a company that can answer so many of my beauty product answers.  It's called Skin Actives and it is located right here in Arizona.  Their website is http://www.skinactives.com/ and their blog address is http://skinactives.com/blog/

To their loyal following, they are called "SAS" for Skin Actives Scientifics in the forums.  And believe me, there is a reason they have a huge fan club.  Their products actually work!

Lately, I have been using products that I see in advertisements or reviews and throwing caution to the wind.  It wasn't until I found the Skin Actives website that I realized, there is a rhyme and reason to each skin product.  The Skin Actives website is a huge resource for skin care information.  Not only do they provide wonderful skin care products for your every need, they have a forum with reviewers and customers that give their honest feedback and suggestions.  You can actually ask skin questions and the participants will help you out!

Now you ask, "What is Skin Actives?"  Skin Actives is a skin care company that is home to customized skin care.  At Skin Actives, you can purchase premade products or you can purchase individual actives that will make up whatever you want!  They sell a canvas base cream and you can add actives to it. For example, they have a depuffing eye active called "dePuff for Eyes Concentrate" that you can add to your eye cream or gel.  You can actually order a kit to make your own cream that is similar to La Mer.  The possibilities are endless.  I have kept my purchases mainly to premade products but will dare to venture into the DIY skincare realm soon.

To learn more, visit their website and click on the green links on the top of the site.  "Find Actives in your Favorite Brand" is one of my favorite links under Information.  This will tell you what products they have that are similar to expensive brands.  "Find Actives to Suit your Needs" will help you locate which product will work for you.

Did I mention their prices are so reasonable?  At Skin Actives they save money by not investing on fancy advertising or packaging and passing the savings on to the customer.  The shipping cost is $6 within the US so order more than one product at a time.  They also sell their products on Ebay so you can see the great feedback they have received.

Each time I have ordered a product from Skin Actives, I receive it within 2 days and it is always packaged neatly and arrives just as described.  Keep in mind; some of their products need to be kept in the refrigerator because some do not contain preservatives (which is actually a good thing). So read your labels when you receive your product or you can ask before ordering.

To give each product the attention it deserves, I will be reviewing each product I have tested in a separate post.  I will tell you that the first product I tried is still my favorite.  It is called Mitochondrial Booster Cream.  It is yellow and contains these key ingredients: plant mitochondria, Coenzyme Q10, R-alpha lipoic acid, acetyl carnitine, niacinamide, resveratrol, riboflavin, creatine pyruvate, thiamine, glutathione, coconut endosperm, sea kelp bioferment, superoxide dismutase.  This product was the one that did it for me.  I was hooked.  My skin turned smooth and clear overnight!  It is one of the products that needs to be refrigerated but I do not mind AT ALL and have replaced my butter compartment with SAS products.  My skin is so clear in the morning (I wear it to bed).

I could go on and on but I don't want to overwhelm you!  Check out their site, read some reviews, and shoot me an email if you want to know if I have used a particular product.  To date, I have used 11 of their products and plan on ordering more.  There is also a "Contact Us" link on their site to ask a question about their products or what would work for your skin.

Try Skin Actives today - you won't be sorry!

Brushlove's New Line of Ceramic Tools

Brushlove is now offering a new line of Brushlab Pure Ceramic Hair Styling Tools.  I had the opportunity to test out this new brush by Brushlab.  First off, I love that it is ceramic so it does not lead to damage from heat styling.  Secondly, I liked the point on the end, so I could easily section off my next piece of hair to style.  And lastly, I loved the bristles because they gripped my thick hair so well.  This brush really was a breeze to use and could work well with any type of hair.

You can purchase this brush at http://brushlove.com/brushlab-pure-ceramic-large-hair-brush-95552.html or they are available at your local ULTA store.  Hmmh... just in time for Valentine's Day?  Maybe you could show your hair a little Brushlove?
