Eeek......Cellulite!

You can pinch more than an inch of dimpled flesh in these regions

10 Cities with the Most Cellulite
Here's what we know about cellulite: you can't "cure" it, women are more likely to have it, and it ain't pretty. What causes cellulite isn't as clear. Hormones and genetics definitely play a role (thanks, mom), but Howard Murad, M.D., and CEO/founder of Murad, Inc., says lifestyle factors that damage the skin or cause poor circulation, think: smoking, excess weight, a diet high in bad fats, alcohol, lack of exercise and overall poor health -- can also contribute. So we used these factors to find out what U.S. cities have the highest rates of cellulite risk factors. Find out if you live in one.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation Review

My new thing is trying new foundations.  I love experimenting with drugstore brands so I can finally settle on one brand and stick with it!

Recently, I tested L'Oreal True Match super-blendable makeup.  I have to say, it did a great job.  The color actually truly matched my skin tone and seemed to tone down the redness.  The application process was very smooth and seemless.  The foundation stayed on my skin after a full day of running errands and running around in 100+ degrees.

The best thing about sampling a makeup such as L'Oreal's True Match from Walgreens, is that you can return it if it doesn't work out for you.  The saleswoman always reminds me that at my local Walgreens.  I think I will hold onto this one.  As for my number one, it's not there yet.  I will have to keep searching.  But for now, True Match can find a place in my beauty bag.

Conceal FX Camouflage Concealer Review

The birthmark on my face never bothers me.  In fact, the only time it bothers me is when someone reminds me it is there or someone licks their finger to wipe the "dirt" off my face.  Wow.  Yes, this has happened.

There are times when you just want to be completely made up and without flaw.  At an interview or audition, so to speak.  Do you want the interviewer to be staring at your face and be distracted or listening to what you say and how you answer questions?  That is where Conceal FX Camouflage comes into play.  I recently tested it to see if it would cover my birthmark.

I did my usual routine, using Skinprep FX Treatment and Priming Serum,  foundation, and then the Conceal FX Camouflage Concealer.  I dabbed it on with my finger, slowly worked it in and lightly tapped it with my foundation sponge.  That is it!  I didn't even have to use powder.  I was very pleased with the results.

Keep in mind, it took a few attempts, as with all products.  The concealer is lightweight instead of thick and pasty so you have to apply it slowly and use just the right amount.

They sell this great product at Sephora here and my review on the Skinprep FX Treatment and Priming Serum can be found here.

So Many Fall Shoes I Love

L'Oreal EverPure UV Protect Spray

Anyone who thinks their hair is not investment has not tried to grow their hair out lately.  When you are trying to grow out your hair, harsh elements can set you back a month or two.

For example, heat styling products are hard on your hair - the blow dryer, curling iron, hot rollers (yes, people still use them!), crimping irons, waving irons, and the life-changing flat iron.  But, before using these items, you use a heat protectant, right?  Please say yes or I will have to give you that look my stylist gave me before I used one.

The sun is no different.  When you are out in the sun often, you need a UV protectant.  That's where L'Oreal comes in to save the day!  Everpure UV Protect spray is specially made for color-treated hair and is sulfate-free.  It is unique because it contains UVA/UVB filters.  It is great because it smells heavenly.

This spray is so refreshing!  It has a great scent and you don't even notice it's in your hair.  I use it when my hair is wet, right out of the shower.  I use it because I want to protect my color AND protect my hair from the harsh sun.  I can't afford to have breakage and damage when I am growing out my hair and I certainly can't afford to go to the salon more often than I do.  Get this spray - you won't be sorry!

L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronze Self-Tanning

It is hard to believe that I am doing a review on self tanning lotion when summer is almost over.  But, think about it, have you seen the cute new dresses out for Fall?  Everyone can use a sparkle on their legs, even in September and October.

I recently tried L'Oreal's Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronze Self-Tanning lotion.  I was happily surprised to find that it didn't have the same awful scent as most self-tanners.  I used a small amount and was surprised to find it so sparkly.  It contains specks of glittery powder.

The good about the sparkle:
-  you can see where it is applied
-  It is fancy and people will notice you
The bad about the sparkle:
- glitter can get on your sheets if you don't shower before bed
- the glitter can be a little "overdone" for a casual event

Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronze lotion went on smoothly and did not stain my hands (I washed my hands shortly after use).   I liked the effect it gave my legs and did not notice it staining my clothing.  I was very pleased and will most likely purchase some more when mine runs out.  CVS always has great sales on L'Oreal products so it is very affordable for most beauty fanatics.

What self-tanners have you tried and liked?  Leave a comment!

Skin Prep FX Review

I am embarrassed to admit, I have never used a foundation primer. Why would I? Shouldn't the makeup go on by itself? Shouldn't it have the ability to smooth on your face without any restrictions? I guess you don't know what you are missing out on until you try it!

Skin Prep FX Nourishing Primer and Anti-Aging Serum changed the way I look at makeup application. I feel like I discovered a little secret that makeup artists have been using for years.

Let me explain how I tested Skin Prep FX. I used it as a moisturizer at night after taking a shower. I have super dry skin if I don't use a moisturizer. Usually when I slather it on, my skin feels wet and greasy until the moisturizer soaks into my skin. When I used Skin Prep FX, it absorbed quickly and felt silky. It was not greasy at all but made my skin feel lightly moisturized.
After sleeping 8 hours, I was eager to see the results. I was in shock when my skin felt nourished and smooth in the morning. It had a dewy look which is hard to acquire here in the desert. After rewashing my face, I applied some more Skin Prep FX and skipped my eye cream. This primer is so smooth around the eyes and great for sensitive skin. My foundation went on smoothly and gave my face a very even tone.

This particular primer has an anti-aging effect as well and I did seem to notice my fine lines around my eyes appearing less noticeable after using this products for two weeks.

I was very pleased with Skin Prep FX and it will now become a staple in my makeup bag. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes! Would I buy it for my sister? Yes!

Luckily, Skin Prep FX is sold at Sephora so it is available to everyone in my town and online. It is created by a company called Cover FX and they have an entire line of great products.
