Stratus is hard to describe. It is a beauty stick that moisturizes, brightens and evens skin tone, and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. You apply it after you have washed your face and apply it directly to you face from the stick. You can smooth it on your skin with your fingertips or with a sponge if you prefer. It is so smooth and smells refreshing. It contains a Certified Organic complex of pumpkin and papaya (this must be the great scent!) As I applied it, I felt the fine lines disappear......ahhhhhh.
I used it under my makeup foundation (both liquid and mineral) and it worked almost as a moisturizer and primer. I found myself applying a little extra around the eyes :) You can also apply it after you use your mineral makeup if you found you used a tad too much and want to tone it down.
I look forward to trying more products from Vapour Beauty. Organic products really do work!

I never thought it would happen but I am now a mineral makeup fan. What happened to me? Did I finally sell out?
This is how it went down. I entered ULTA after work with my very best friend. I fully intended to look at hair products and maybe cruise the makeup section. I got sucked in by this persuasive saleslady. “Can I help you?” Thinking of my blog, I answered, “Do you have anything new?” Fast forward two minutes later and I was sitting comfortably in a black leather stool having my makeup removed and having my skin lathered up in Pür Minerals Mineral Moisture Complex Anti-Aging Powerhouse ($34.50). She told me that the lotion will actually help hold in the mineral makeup. I could not believe the transformation as this makeup artist/salesperson applied the mineral makeup with the Pür Minerals Chisel Brush.
When I looked in the mirror, I could not believe my eyes! This powder (called 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup) actually concealed my uneven skin, my flaws, and my birthmark. I was in shock to say the least.
Where do I sign up?? I was sold. I ended up purchasing the starter kit in Golden Medium ($35) and received the Maximum Coverage Brush for free ($16.50). I have to tell you, I was very pleased with the free brush. The chisel brush that comes with the kit is actually a little harsh on my skin so I may look for a new one in a different brand. Any suggestions?
It’s been a few weeks now and I am loving my makeup! As for the kit, the blush is VERY light and you have to use a lot to get a blushed look. Because my skin is so pale it works, but for a darker complexion it may not work. As for the bronzer, I haven’t really needed it! I will use it, but for now, I am just so pleased with my 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup with SPF 15.
The key to using this makeup – apply your moisturizer a few minutes before applying it so it sets better. Do not use too much around your eyes. The salesperson said it can actually accentuate fine lines if you use too much.
brushes in baby shampoo every week or two (depending on how busy you are!). Wash
Another great result of using this makeup, my skin has cleared up immensely. I would like to also try their Fulvic Mineral Mist ($16.50). The salesperson used it on my face and it felt great. It gives your makeup a dewy look and sets your makeup. I will review this product soon!
Why Pür Minerals over bareMinerals? I was told by the salesperson (who probably works on commission) that bareMinerals can be itchy to people with sensitive skin due to the mica and other ingredients. After referring to the website it claims: Check out all the benefits of Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation:
- Pür Minerals mineral makeup foundation does not contain harsh chemical dyes, talc, alcohol, fragrance or preservatives.
- 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation includes titanium and zinc, which provide an all-natural barrier from the elements.
- Pür Minerals Pressed Mineral Foundation Is easy to use without the traditional mess of other makeup products.
- Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation is the number one mineral makeup formula recommended by plastic surgeons and dermatologists.
- Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation is good for every skin type and condition, from oily skin to dry, mature types.
For right now, I will continue to use and enjoy my Pür Minerals and highly recommend it. It won’t work for everyone but it is worth getting a mini-makeover at Ulta to see if it will work for you!

That's right. If you are a woman you have the right to try a new scent anytime! That is the beauty of being a woman. You can choose how you want to represent yourself through make-up, fashion, and fragrances. Did I ever mention I love being a girl?
I had to pleasure of sampling the new Eau de Parfum Spray from Yves Saint Laurent called Parisienne. It makes you remember you are a girl! This scent is feminine and floral with a mysterious hint of a woodsy scent. It was so appropriate that I tried it on my recent trip to the White Mountains in Arizona. It truly fit my mood and surroundings.
Although I am partial to fruity and sweets scents, I enjoyed trying something new and more feminine. If you are a fan of Sandalwood, Blackberry, and Damask Rose I say "Give it a Try"! I don't think you will be disappointed.
First off, the shape of this mascara wand is awesome. I have to say you will feel a little cool using it and a little "fancy". It is similar to the Givency Phenomen'Eyes version that costs much more ($28 at Sephora.com).
How does it perform?
I found this mascara gave me the ability to reach my shorter lashes in a way I can't with a normal curved or straight wand. The mascara quality was great too and lasted all day. My lashes looked thick, long, and seperated just the way I like. It wasn't too dramatic for daytime or work either.
The wand will take a bit getting used to though. It was so lightweight and small that I was afraid I was going to poke my eye, but I didn't. It also grabs so much mascara that you have to be sure to wipe some off onto the container before applying it to your eyes.
Overall? I really liked the mascara and think it might have a chance of lasting power. As for me buying it again? Yes, but only if it's on sale and as a secondary mascara.
Guess what? I got some at the Dollar Tree and they work almost as good as they pricey ones! I mean, they work, they stay in, and they make you look so classy. They won't stay in while you walk the dogs. Yes, I have a neighbor that does that. Try them today!
One of my best friends in the entire world is moving to New York City next month. She is packing up her bags and exchanging her cowboy boots and hat for little black dresses and Mikimoto pearls. You know the pearls I am talking about? The ones that Sarah Jessica Parker wore in the Sex and the City movie.
What are you looking for in a beauty skincare line? I am looking for improvement in wrinkles, improvement on elasticity, and something natural. Sustainable Youth has all of those elements. I recently tried the Sustainable Youth line which included immune performance elasticity cream with Alasta™, the revitalizing serum with Alasta™, and the elastifirm supplement with Alasta™.
I was skeptical of these products because they were organic. I thought something so natural couldn't be that effective. I was wrong!
I used these products for several weeks and have seen a skin improvement. My skin was breaking out and it seems that the natural ingredients have helped my skin quality and even my elasticity. I especially noticed it in my neck area.
Though its precise pathway has not been charted, based on clinical testing, it is clear that a positive, supportive relationship exists between the use of Alasta™ and the ability to help reduce overall inflammation in the body to help sustain the quality and appearance of youth.
Alasta™ appears to affect the performance of certain immune cells which results in less inflammation. Less inflammation results in less oxidative stress, fewer free radical reactions, and less collagen cross-linking, resulting in increased elasticity and firmness.
