Nick Chavez Beverly Hills - An Inspirational Story

I recently read a great article on Nick Chavez.  It is really inspirational about how he started out working as a ranch hand when he was young to make money for his family.  He groomed horses and after he realized he had talent, moved on to cutting his family members' hair. Then he moved to California with only a pair of scissors in his hands and soon became a top stylist in Bevery Hills.  It is amazing what hard work and determination can do.  Now he owns one of the top salons in Beverly Hills and has his own line of hair products at Ulta and on QVC!  I was really excited to learn that he was from Arizona (like me). 

I always tell my sons that they can be anything they want to be, start their own business or invent a product someday.  It's nice to read a story such as this one and know that it really is true.

Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Sanitizer Review

I have been looking for a good hand sanitizer that actually doesn't burn and moisturizes at the same time.  This is it!  Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Sanitizer Moisturizer.  It can be found in the lotion section of any drugstore or convenience store.  I looked in the hand sanitizer section and was curious why it wasn't located there.  I think they should at least have a display in both areas but they didn't ask me!

I got mine at Target for $3.99 and I promise it was worth every penny.  They have it at CVS for $4.99 and at Walmart for $3.97.  No, I did not price check, I just shop a lot!  I am hoping CVS has a bonus bucks program soon for this brand so I can stock up.

They also have a large pump for $9.99 that would be a perfect gift for any teacher or new parent.  I am going to buy one for my son's classroom this week.

Living Proof Thickening Cream Review

Have you heard of Living Proof?  It is a company the brought the world No Frizz - a revolutionary anti-frizz product that changed the beauty world.  Their products are based on technology from the research labs of Drs. Dan Anderson and Bob Langer at MIT.  Now their team of scientists have invented a new material - Poly Beta Amino Ester-1 used in their latest product, Full Thickening Cream.

Living Proof really lives up to it's name.  I recently tried their Full Thickening Cream.  This new lighweight formula actually gives your hair a natural fullness, without leaving it brittle or stiff as most products do to your hair. 

This is how to use it: Wash and comb your hair.  Dispense a nickel-sized amount of Full and rub it through your hands.  Spread it evenly through your hair (avoiding the roots).  Make sure to work it down to the ends of your hair with your fingers or a comb.  If you hair is really long, use a little extra.  You may have to experiment a few times to get the right amount.

Blow-dry and style your hair as you normally would.  It is recommended that you use a round brush and dry your hair in sections.  (see their website for more instructions)

This product can also be used in conjunction with Living Proof's No Frizz.  You can learn more about how to use their products on the Facebook fan page too!  I enjoyed reading the posts and learning tips.

Your hair will feel soft and full but it is noted that as the day goes on, your hair will be softer and have a great feel.  After using Full, my hair lasted 2 days!  By the third day, my hair felt soft and full but I decided to wash it and start all over.  I used a little too much the second time, but practice makes perfect and now I know the right amount that works for me.

Here are the results of my hair: 

I followed the instructions and finished up by using velcro rollers for 5 minutes, flat ironing my ends, adding a very small amount of anti-frizz serum, and using a touch of hairspray.  The fullness in my hair lasted for 2.5 days!  I really didn't spend that much time on my hair and considering that I didn't have to style it the next day, I was thrilled.
